Patna, 7th March:
A huge demonstration was here before the Chief Minister against sex education in schools, price-hike, unemployment, obscenity and asbestos plant on agricultural land under the auspices of All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO), the All India Democratic Youth Organization (AIDYO) and the All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan (AIMSS). The well decorated precession of students, youths and women coming from different districts of the state started from Gandhi Maidan. Traversing the main thoroughfares of the capital the processionists shouting thunderous slogans in favour of their demands reached R-Bloc, where the procession was stopped by the police. The procession conversed as a mass meeting. The meeting was addressed by Arun Kumar Singh, Senior State Committee Member, SUCI (Communist), Deepak Kumar, Vice President, AIDYO, Shyamali Mukherjee, All India leader of AIMSS, Suryakar Jitendra, State Secretary, AIDSO, Indradeo Roy, State Convener, AIDYO, Sadhana Mishra , State Secretary, AIMSS and others. Addressing the gathering the speakers said lakhs of youths are unemployed. Education is in worse condition. Government -whether state or central-is shrinking its responsibility to provide education and job for its citizens. People’s discontent is growing and it is surfacing here and there in the form of protests. In order to make people inhuman and to break its morale the government is going to introduce sex education in the school level. The government is allowing the owners to set up hazardous asbestos factories in densely populated areas on fertile agricultural land whereas thousands of factories are still closed in the state. They urged the people to intensify the struggle on the burning problems of their live. Later a memorandum having six point charter of demand was submitted to the office of CM.
