SUCI (Communist) protests exorbitant price hike of Petrol in Patna

Patna, May 15:

SUCI (Communist) burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in protest against the petrol price hike at Patna Junction Roundabout on Sunday. SUCI (C) workers were shouting thunderous slogans against the exorbitant rise in the price of petrol.

After burning the effigy a meeting was organized at Patna Junction Roundabout. Addressing the meeting the speakers said the price of food items and the essential commodities are sky-rocketing. The price hike of petrol would make the life of the people miserable. Since Congress led UPA Government returned in power in May, 2009, petrol prices have gone up by over 50 per cent. In the last one year alone the increase is of 3o per cent. The speakers said this is the seventh time in 11 months that petrol prices have gone up. Condemning the UPA government for petrol price hike the speakers demanded to roll back the increased price. Those who spoke on the occasion were Manikant Pathak and Shivlal Prasad, both State Committee Member, SUCI (C), Sadhana Mishra, Secreatry, Patna District Committee, SUCI (C) and Suryakar jitendra, Member, Patna District Committee, SUCI (C).

Procession and Rally on May Day





Patna, May 1:

Historic May Day was observed here on Sunday. Under the auspices of Central Trade Unions like AIUTUC, AITUC, CITU, HMS, TUCC, AICCTU a huge procession of workers was taken from Radio Station and conversed as a rally at Patna Junction Roundabout. Different trade union leaders including Arun Kumar Singh, President, AIUTUC, addresed the rally.
