SUCI (Communist) Expresses solidarity to Wall Street Movement




Patna, October 21:
SUCI (Communist) Patna District Committee expresses solidarity to the ongoing Wall Street Movement here on Friday. While showing solidarity to the participants of Occupy Wall Street Movement SUCI (Communist) activists were shouting slogans Like ‘Salute to the Wall Street Movement’, ‘Salvation is in socialism, not capitalism’, ‘Move forward to anti-capitalist working class revolution’, ‘Long live Marxism-Leninism-Shibdas Ghosh thought’, ‘Destroy capitalism, build up socialism’, ‘Down with capitalism, build up socialism’.
Addressing the meeting held on the occasion, Arun Kumar Singh, senior member of SUCI (Communist), Bihar State Committee, said, ‘’The gathering of people at Wall Street, the headquarters of financial institutions, in New York held on September 17 last is continued. The slogan ‘Occupy Wall Street’ expresses itself the people’s endeavour to identify the main enemy responsible for the present pitiable condition of theirs. This time the target of the movement is neither Gorge Bush nor Obama, but the owners of huge capital accumulated through exploitation of labour, the corporate giants. Standing on Wall Street the American people are raising their voice against the relief packages of crores of dollars given to corporate houses and heavily cutting down the expenses in health and education for the common people. On the one hand the wealth of the rich is expanding rapidly and the common people are turning into beggars day by day on the other. The unemployment is on the top. It has even surpassed the rate of unemployment assumed during the great recession of 1929. ’’
Wall Street movement had shaken the entire world. The waves of movement had spread in the major cities of the countries of America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Demonstrations were being held daily in those cities. People were showing solidarity to and extending their support to the demonstrators of Wall Street Movement. The common people of different countries were shouting slogans in favour of the change in social set up. To remove 1 per cent of the population, the exploiters, the corporate houses from the seat of power by the populace of 99 per cent, the toiling people was the common desire of the people taking part in the movement. They wanted to overthrow capitalism, root cause of all human miseries. Their banners display ‘Capitalism is not working, another world is possible’ and we know ‘another world’ is Socialism, he added.
In course of describing the domestic conditions prevailing in the country, the other speakers mentioned the incidents of suicides of farmers entangled in debts, closer of lacs of factories, starvation and miseries to the working people, deprivation of education and health services of common man, opening of fire and resorting of lathicharge by the police personnel at people’s movement. They urged the common people in general and toiling people in particular to take lessons, get inspire and build up mighty mass movements on the people’s issues. “In course of strengthening mass movements and fastening the contradictions of labour and capital they have to establish socialism is the need of the hour”, they said. The others who spoke on the occasion are Shiv Lal Prasad, M K Pathak, both senior members, SUCI (Communist), Bihar State Committee, Sadhana Mishra, Secretary, SUCI (Communist), Patna District Committee, Baidyanath Sharma, Suryakar Jitendra, Anil Kumar and Anamika.
