Convention against demonetization

Under the auspices of SUCI (Communist) Patna District Committee a well attended CONVENTION against demonetization was held on Saturday at IMA Hall. In course of campaigning among the people for convention party activists organized a dozen of street corner meetings at different localities in the city.

Addressing the convention Robin Samajpati, Secretary, SUCI (Communist) Jharkhand State Committee said, “On 8^th November Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi banned Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes claiming all black moneys would have been unearthed, corruption would be wiped out and by invalidating fake notes terror funding would be stopped. Asking 5o days for his ‘bold step’ to get desired result he said no one needed to stand on queue after 30 December.” Discussing the consequences of demonetization Sri Samajpati said that agriculture and small enterprises had suffered much affecting entire economy badly. More than 130 precious lives were lost standing in queues and in absence of sufficient cash to get proper treatment. People had taken all those sufferings to get ‘long-term benefits’ promised by PM Narendra Modi. But after passing 50 days it had proved to be a big hoax and nothing but a ply to divert people’s attention from the accumulated grievances against the various anti-people policies tearing their life pieces day in and a day out. He added that Mr. Modi had no answer the natural questions of how much black money was recovered by this ‘surgical strike’? How many black money holders were sent to jails?” “PM Modi is laying more and more stress on cashless economy to divert people’s attention on his tall claims regarding black money as if introduction of cashless economy is his main thrust,” said Sri Samajpati. He further said such a environment was being created where capitalist exploitation, price rise, unemployment, worsening condition of health and education and increasing crimes on women were not, but unable to use debit and credit cards were the causes of the people’s problems. Dealing on cashless economy Sri Samajpati said that in the context of increasing the incidents of cyber crimes our money was not safe when as neither banks nor government took their responsibility. He added that the business of Android Mobiles and the huge profits of the agencies like Paytm, Jio Money, Reliance Money etc were associated with cashless transactions. Concluding his speech Sri Samajpati said no common men; rather big businessmen, capitalists, industrialists and corporate houses begot black money. In course of serving the interest of those big businessmen, capitalists, industrialists and corporate houses Bharatiya Janata Party was unable to take hard measures against them.

Addressing the convention Prof. Vinay Kumar Kanth, Educationist and former Professor, Patna University said that demonetization was the open war against people. It was the move for ruination the common people. Referring the recent statement of the President of India, he said it would bring recession in the economy. “Farmers were hit hard. Thousands of workers and employees were retrenched and the whole economy was badly affected,” Prof. Kanth added. He further added that there was a danger looming large in the freedom of expression. Criticism and opposition of any move of the government was being termed as anti-national, as traitor. Country was running by a single person. It was a serious matter of concern.

Prof. Daisy Narain, State President, PUCL and Professor of History in Patna University said in her address, “We should have full right on the money earned hard by ourselves. But the PM snatched our right on our own money. We had been deprived to withdraw sufficient money from our savings. This is direct attack on our human right.” Prof. Narain added that talking of cashless economy in such a country whose 40 per cent of population could not use internet and 30 per cent of its population did not use smart phones was meaningless. She added that there was no such a country in the world whose full flagged economy was cashless.

Addressing the convention Mr. Arun Shadwal , Senior leader, Indian Bank officers Association cum Literateur said that Modi government had taken the decision of demonetization in order to save governmental and private banks from bankruptcy due to more and more defaulters (big industrialist and corporate houses) and to provide fresh loans at very low interests to corporate sectors. Terming the tall claim of PM to recover all black money within 50 days as baseless and asked where black money was after deposited 97 per cent of notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 in banks. He added that black money was not in the houses of the people; rather it was invested in real estate, share market and juwelary. Disclosing the fact that 94 per cent of black money was in foreign banks, he said further that government was silent regarding it. “The introduction of cashless economy in such a country, whose 80 per cent of population even did not earn Rs. 20 daily, is a satire to illiterate, oppressed and deprived masses of the country” he added.

Social worker Arshad Azmal said that Modi government invalidated the notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 saying those notes were augmenting black money. But contradicting their own logic the government introduced currency note of Rs. 2000 which would augment more and more black money, according to their own logic. Referring the earlier demonetization in 1946 and in 1978 he said that it did not unearthed black money and wipe out corruption.

Presiding over the convention Sadhana Mishra, Secretary, SUCI (C) Patna District Committee said that instead of taking stringent measures against the highest echelons of the capitalist system and recovering black money stashed away in banks overseas, that very step of the government was a cheap stunt designed to befool people, divert their grievances, reap electoral benefits and push common toiling people to immense hardship.

 Among others Arun Kumar Singh, Secretary, Bihar State Committee, SUCI (C) was also present on the dais. All the speakers in a single voice urged the people to build up mighty movements against all anti people policies of Narendra Modi led central government including demonetization, black money, corruption and worsening condition of education and heath. Mass songs were also presented in the convention. 

Patna saw an army of youths dedicated and committed for certain ideology

On 22^nd October, 2016 the People of Patna saw a quite different gathering of youths who have come from different parts of the country. Representing different states from Kerala to Punjab and from Rajasthan to Tripura the youth rally of nearly ten thousands marched from Anjuman Islamia Hall to Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir (Muktakash) traversing Ashok Rajpath, Gandhi Maidan, JP Roundabout and Fraser Road. Holding banners and placards in their hands they were raising slogans against anti employment policy of the government and in favor of their other demands. This was the occasion of the open session of 2^nd All India Youth Conference. The conference was being organized in the city of Patna in Bihar from 22-24 October 2016. This gigantic conference was organized by All India Democratic Youth Organization, a revolutionary youth organization (AIDYO) of the country.  Seeing this mammoth rally the traffic of Patna city stood spellbound for several minutes. The nature of this rally was completely different as compared to other anarchist organization, because of the army of the youths participated in this rally were dedicated and committed for certain ideology. The rally comprised of youths free from the religion, caste and regionalism and committed to bring the dream of the great revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh, Ashfaqulla Khan, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to make a new society free from any kind of exploitation. Burning problems of youths of this country such as unemployment, cultural degradation, communal and caste problem, and crimes against women were raised in this conference.

Inaugurating the Youth Conference Smt. Mridula Mishra, Former Justice of Patna High Court congratulated all the delegates who had assembled here with a mission to make this All India Youth Conference a grand success. Upholding the issues raised in the conference, she said that unemployment was becoming a very serious problem of the youths in our country. The consumerist culture was playing a very nasty role in spreading obscenity very fast among the youths. The spread of obscenity was also being accelerated by the market oriented policies of the governments. Stressing the need of fighting spirit in the youths she urged to ignite that spirit.

Addressing the Conference as a main speaker Satyavan, Member, Central Committee, SUCI (Communist) said, “To day, the situation of this country is completely not in the favor of the youths. The youths of this country are struggling for basic necessities of life like education, health and employment.   Millions of unemployed youths in search of employment are migrating from one city to other.  What happened to the promises of the Prime Minister of this country who had said he will create two crores of jobs every year?  The youths of this country should think seriously about the degradation of cultural and ethical standard. They should focus on the development of sports and cultural movements also. Without acquiring higher moral values, ethics and higher level of consciousness no one can become good human being. To change the present situation of this country the youth movement should develop in the right direction and with right ideology.”

Addressing the mammoth gathering of youths Prathibha Nayak, General Secretary, AIDYO said, “Under the grave situation of the country, it would have been more challenging for AIDYO to organize its 2^nd All India 

Youth Conference without the support of the entire people of the country and Bihar in particular. This is a hugely successful and historic program because of the commitment of the youths of AIDYO towards their ideology and ideals. The AIDYO, a revolutionary youth organization founded on the teachings and thoughts of Comrade Shibdas Ghosh, a foremost Marxist thinker of this era, is striving hard to solve the problems of our country by establishing socialism in this land. We have to move fast to inculcate higher morals and ethics among the youths so that they emerge as responsible citizens. The next two days of delegate session will exclusively deliberate on this important issue and draw up the future course of action. Movements against the increasing menace of drugs and increasing crimes on women will also be chalked out in the conference. Finally, this youth conference will become a milestone in taking the youth movement of our country to higher phases.

 The meeting was also addressed by Deepak Kumar and Ramanjanappa, both Vice Presidents, AIDYO. Ujjwal Roy, fraternal delegate from Bangladesh and Com. Anshuman Roy, Secretariat Member, AIDSO, were among other speakers.

On the next day the delegate session of the conference started with the flag hoisting by Pratibha Nayak, General Secretary, AIDYO. Unable to attend the Conference due to his illness, Manik Mukherjee, Member, Polit Bureau, SUCI (Communist) urged in his message to hasten the revolutionary youth movement. Recalling the role played by youths in revolutionary transformation in past he stressed the need of strengthen AIDYO to foil the increasing present fascist attacks. He also emphasized the need to build up youth movement in order to establish socialism. The Communist Youth Organisation (KGO) of Turkey in its message wished the conference a total success and stressed the need to strengthen world wide the present day youth movement. Abhoy Mukherjee,  General  Secretary, DYFI, in his message, termed this 2^nd All India Conference of AIDYO a decisive step in the direction of developing united left and democratic youth movement in the country. Aftab Alam, President, AIYF, in his address pointed out the danger for democracy the increasing attacks led by RSS and BJP throughout the country. He also emphasized the need of united left and democratic movement.The main resolution was moved by Com. Ramanjanappa. The delegates participated enthusiastically on the issues like unemployment, casteism, communalism, obscenity, increasing crimes on women.     

Ten resolutions including on casteism, communalism, obscenity, atrocities on women, commercialization of health and sports, skill development, the problems of ITI students, Apprenticeship Act-2016, contractual labor were moved and passed unanimously. The draft Constitution was also passed with some valuable amendments. While the organizational Report was placed by Pratibha Nayak. In order to develop a powerful youth movement throughout the country a strong All India Committee consisting of 78 members was formed. Ramanjanappa was elected as President, while Pratibha Nayak was reelected as General Secretary of the organization.

 In his concluding speech Provas Ghosh, General Secretary, SUCI (Communist) said, “Whenever the clouds of crisis intensify at any stage of the development of human civilization, whenever  the existence of civilization and humanity face stiff danger, it was the youth who came forward with all their strength, vivacity and courage armed with correct ideology, love for mankind and smashed the obstacles in the way of social progress.” Stressing the need to upgrade moral and cultural standard of the youths he added that since independence ruling capitalist class in its cunning attempt is eroding the moral backbone of the youths so that the youths cannot stand up raising their head high against social injustice, atrocities and exploitation prevailing in the society.”

 

Movement on Civic Problems in Patna

Patna, 23 June:

There has been an old relation between Patna Municipal Corporation and uncleanness. Garbage and dusts on streets and lanes, heap of garbage here and there and filthy smells corroborate it. The recent report of WHO emphasizes it stating that Patna is the 6^th most polluted city in the word. It is has been the experience of suffering from water logging in every year in spite of tall claims of cleanness of garbage from the drains. Many streets and lanes immerse in water even light showers. Mosquitoes are spreading widely due to not using of mosquito killing sprays. This may led to diseases like malaria and dengue. As far the question of drinking water is concerned, the pipes used for supplying water are very old, broken and passes through the drains, carries dirty water. People are compelled to drink this unhygienic water. No one can negate the possibilities of diarrhea, dysentery and amoebiasis. Barring some VIP Roads, most of the streets and lanes lighted through the lights coming from open shops and windows of the houses. But after closing these private sources of lights most of the streets and lanes immersed in darkness.

In order to find out the solution of this hell-like situation SUCI (C) Patna district Committee decided to build up movement making the citizens conscious about their citizens’ right. A month long campaign was undertaken visiting went door to door in different localities. Party activists collected signatures of the citizens in favour of the charter of demands addressed to the Mayor, Patna Municipal Corporation. Signature campaign was also conducted at different public places.

On 23 June, 2016 a citizen demonstration was held before the office of the Mayor at Mauryalok demanding regular cleanness of streets and lanes, solving the problem of water logging, cleanness the garbage of the drains in proper way, spraying of bleaching powder in drains and dustbins, using of mosquito killing sprays through fogging machines, regular supply of pure drinking water, changing of old and broken pipes used for supplying water, arrangement of street lights in roads and lanes, covering of open manholes, arrangement of urinals at important crossings. Demonstrators were shouting thunderous slogans holding festoons in their hands.

A meeting was held there. Addressing the meeting Sadhana Mishra, Secretary, SUCI (C) Patna District Committee, said that it was the right of every citizen to live in a healthy and hygienic environment. Citizens are discharging their duties by paying taxes imposed on them by Municipal Corporation. But contrarily Municipal Corporation is shaking its responsibilities of proving its citizens the healthy, hygienic and cleanness environment. She criticized the PMC for working in PPP mode. The meeting was also addressed by M K Pathak, Suryakar Jitendra, Rajkumar Chaudhary, Awadhesh Kumar, Baidyanath Sharma and Anamika. Astonishingly, when demonstrators got no response from the office of the Mayor after demonstrating and holding meetings for a long time, they entered into the chamber of the Mayor. But Mayor was absent and no one was entrusted to meet and hear the delegation, though he was informed earlier. It evoked anguish among the demonstrating citizens and they decided to intensify the movement on civic problems.                     

                    

Meeting on 70th Anniversary of the Victory of Soviet Red Army over Fascism

Under the auspices of SUCI (Communist) Patna District Committee a meeting was organized on Monday at IMA Hall on the occasion of 70^th anniversary of the victory of Soviet Red Army over fascist forces. Addressing the meeting Com. Arun Kumar Singh, Senior Member, SUCI (Communist) Bihar State Committee said when Adolf Hitler started the preparation of war by the help of German monopoly capital, the western imperialist countries – the USA, Great Britain and France- wanted to let Hitler attack on Soviet Union and destroy the first Socialist Country and working class state in the world by increasing his war strength. “On the question of opening 2^nd front on western border the US-British rulers showed the attitude of avoidance since beginning.  When fascist forces were unleashing reign of killing and destructing in large scale in USSR, Stalin requested times and again the rulers of US, France and Britain to attack Germany through France side. If they were executed the same, Hitler were compelled to transfer his army at western front dispatching it from eastern front and there would have decrease in the intensity of the attacks against USSR. But western imperialist rulers ignored it and therefore Soviet Union had to fight alone against Germany,” he added.

Dealing with the emergence of fascism in Germany Com. Swapan Chatterjee, Senior Member, SUCI (Communist) Uttar Pradesh State Organizing Committee said that World War II was imperialist war. “Emerging imperialist country Germany needed outside market. It needed colonies for exploitation. But the world market had already been divided among US-British-French and other European imperialists. Without waging war no changes had to be brought in it. Therefore Germany declared war to fulfill its aspirations,” he added. He said further that blindness, unscientific mentality and a mentality devoid of logic were being propagated in fascism which destroyed even all the human relations.

 Addressing the meeting Prof. Santosh Kumar, retired professor of NIT, Patna said that 80 per cent people of the world had been convinced that the defeat of fascist forces caused by US, British and France. But in reality it was the socialist Soviet Union who defeated the fascist forces. Stressing on the need to unite all the anti fascist forces, he said any stone thrown against fascism should be welcome.

Emphasizing on the need to inculcate the character of Great Stalin who freed the human civilization from the clutches of Fascism, Vikas Rahi, renowned mathematician said to unite all the left parties against fascist forces raising their ugly heads in our country too. Petty ideological difference should not be the hurdle in it.

Shiv Shankar, Secretary, SUCI (Communist) Bihar State Committee said that darkness prevailed not only in Russia and the countries of East Europe, but the whole world had been transferred into region of plunder. Today imperialist had imposed the war on the whole world. Hundreds of innocents were killing in war in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Africa- everywhere. “ Like the problems of bread, clothing and residence, the road to human emancipation from war also lies in socialism,” he added. The meeting was conducted by Com. Sadhana Mishra, Secretary, SUCI (Communist) Patna District Committee. It was ended with international.
