SUCI (C) protests excessive hike in diesel and cooking gas in Patna



Patna, September 14:

The activists of SUCI (Communist) protest the excessive price hike in diesel by Rs.5 per liter and 50 percent increase of the prices of cooking gas. The party activists assembled at Bhagat Singh Chowk, near Gandhi Maidan and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh amidst thundering slogans against UPA govt.

On this occasion Shiv Shankar, Secretary, SUCI (Communist) Bihar State Committee condemned the decision of Congress led UPA govt. the unprecedented hike in diesel and cooking gas. Terming UPA govt. out and out anti people he said that the govt. had done all this in its bid to fulfill the interest of foreign and domestic capitalists. The urged the common people of the state to come forward and lunch a resistance movement against this draconian decision.

Addressing a short meeting after burning the effigy the speakers said that the recent hike in diesel price and capping the number subsidized cooking gas cylinders at six a year was a great blow on the people already reeling under unprecedented price. They said that the govt. was loosing huge money for subsidizing to the industrialists and rich on the one hand but on the other increasing the prices of diesel and cooking gas. “The decision taken against the common people of the country will impact badly household budgets as price of most food and essential items will go up”, said the speakers.

The meeting was addressed by Shivlal Prasad, M. K. Pathak both Members, Bihar State Committtee, SUCI (C), Sadhana Mishra, Secretary, Patna District Committee, SUCI (C), Suryakar Jitendra, Anil Kumar and Anamika, all Members, Patna District Committee, SUCI (C).
