Patna 5 August: The Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), the only genuine revolutionary Communist party on Indian soil observed the 36th memorial day of its founder General Secretary, a foremost Marxist thinker and great leader of proletariat Com. Shibdas Ghosh in a befitting manner in Bihar. The state level memorial meeting was held at P & T Hall in Patna on 5th August, 2012. Party members and supporters from different districts of the state attended the meeting.
Addressing the huge gathering Com. Manik Mukherjee, Member, Polit Bureau, SUCI (Communist) said that the founder General Secretary of their party Com. Shibdas Ghosh passed away on 5th August 35 years ago. His teachings and life struggles provided the direction to the proletarian revolution of the country. Pointing out the dreams of Com. Shibdas Ghosh he appealed all to renew their pledges to fulfill the dreams. He asserted that his dreams can only be fulfilled by overthrowing capitalism and establishing socialism. He asked the rulers of the country why do the people die of starvation, why do the farmers commit suicide passing so many years after independence. He told that India had 3 richest persons out of 20 in the world. The wealth of a handful of people was increasing day by day. But common man was dying. They achieved nothing. They got poorer and poorer. He said further that as there was no real communist party in India during freedom movement, Com. Shibdas Ghosh felt the necessity of a real revolutionary party. For this he undertook the task of forming a new party. That party is the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist). He emphasized the need of acquiring revolutionary characters and adopting mass life, living with the people. Speaking on elections he said revolution would not take place by simply getting majority in parliament. Common people got nothing by elections. We had to wage struggle, shed blood for revolution.
Presenting the reality of the common people in the country he said that people had no food, no job, on education. Farmers were dying, committing suicide. Prices of commodities were soaring up. Mothers and sisters were compelled to resort the prostitution. They were choosing this sinister path for livelihood. There was much agony and pain everywhere. Discussing on international scenario he said that people were fighting in the whole world, even in America. Earlier people’s struggles had been in the backward countries, in third world countries and in the countries of Middle-East. But the American people too awakened one day and came forward in the arena of the movement. The ‘Occupy Wall Street Movement’ got its momentum. Referring Comrade Shibdas Ghosh the polit bureau member said that the material condition for revolution was fully prepared. What we need is the real revolutionary capable to lead the revolution. If revolution took place under the leadership of a real revolutionary party, socialism would establish, capitalism would end and imperialism would end. Same was the condition of India. Ground was prepared for the revolution. It needed to strengthen the party, spread the party in all the states and intensify the movements. He showed the enough possibilities in favour of revolution. Commenting on Anna Hazare he said that lacks of people supported his movement against corruption due to their discontent, their sufferings. His party requested him to incorporate the issues of price rise and unemployment to it. But he refused their request. Stressing the need of building and developing mass movements in the light of the direction of Comrade Shibdas Ghosh he expressed his strong desire that a lot of change would sure to occur. If we could disseminate the teachings of Com. Shibdas Ghosh to every nook and corner of the country, revolution would take no much time. Capitalism was on death bed. It needed a blow, the blow of revolution. Only then it would end.
Com. Shiv Shankar, Secretary, SUCI (Communist), Bihar State Committee presided over the meeting. The meeting started with singing the song composed on Com. Shibdas Ghosh and ended with internationale.
